Metamorphosis of Aphrodite's Stones: Narine Arakelian's Journey from Myth to Metaverse

Narine Arakelian, a pioneering Armenian interdisciplinary feminist artist, wanted a partner to help bring her on-ground exhibit - "Metamorphosis of Aphrodite's Stones" to Decentraland.
We created for her a land-art piece depicting Aphrodite’s Stone from the island of Cyprus in the digital space. The Aphrodite’s Stone exists in real time. Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Olympian goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation, arose from the sea foam on the southwestern coast of Cyprus. A local story suggests that anyone who swims around the rock will be blessed with eternal beauty. This site attracts thousands of women worldwide, seeking to test the legend.
